Meals, Gifts, and Lots of Cheer – Holiday Fundraiser Recap

Holiday Fundraisers (1)

During the holiday season, The Foundation Schools hosted several fundraisers to help support our students and families in need. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to provide them with Thanksgiving meal baskets, winter holiday gifts, clothing, food, and toys to make their holidays special! Let’s take a look at the impact we made together:

Adopt-A-Family is a great way for our community to help our students and families in need have gifts for the winter holidays. This year we fulfilled the wishes of 38+ families! Thank you for giving our students a wonderful holiday.

During the month of November, we received incredible Thanksgiving baskets filled with yummy food for our families to enjoy during Thanksgiving. We’re happy to announce we distributed 30+ Thanksgiving Baskets to our families in need! Thank you for showing your giving spirit to our families.

Staff at The Foundation Schools hosted a Canned Food Drive to ensure all of our students had delicious meals to eat during Thanksgiving. We’re proud to say our staff donated 600+ cans of food! Thank you to our amazing staff for all that you do for our students.

The Foundation School of Montgomery County hosted a Holiday Cheer Drive to bring food, clothes, and toys to our Montgomery County families in need. This year we were able to raise $900 for our families! Thank you for spreading holiday cheer to our students and families at FSMC.

Our beloved librarian Sara Phang launched her annual Holiday Book Fair fundraiser to cover the costs of free, new books for our students to enjoy during winter break. Through your donations, we raised $2,000 for our book fair this year! Thank you for giving our students the gift of reading.

And finally, our season-long Giving Tuesday fundraiser is off to a great start! So far we have collected essential items for our sensory rooms like chew necklaces, stress balls, noise-canceling headphones, and fidget toys. There’s still time to deliver items to our students that help increase their focus and improve their emotional wellbeing. Fund an item here!

A special thanks to our community partners at St. Barnabas Church, RESA Women Inc., Andrews Federal Credit Union, IMC Water Coolers, and Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission for their generous contributions and continued support for our students.

The holidays can be a busy time for many, thank you for thinking of our students and showing remarkable kindness and compassion to them and their families.
