Vocational
Education Program
The vocational
program at The Foundation Schools is
designed to help students develop the
skills they need to make a successful
transition to employment and/or post-secondary
education/training upon graduation. The
integration of vocational and academic
content is the core of our comprehensive
program. Through this integration, students
gain a better understanding of the interrelationship
between knowledge, skill, performance,
and work. The school-based learning component
of our program focuses on areas relating
to career development, employability,
work maturity, and the acquisition of
job-related skills. With the support
of the vocational education teacher,
the student applies his academic knowledge
and vocational skills to meet on-the-job
requirements. On-the-job training (OJT)
is also used to develop specific skills
and provide general industry knowledge.
Through OJT, employers can measure the
students quality of work and give
them constructive feedback concerning
their potential for successful employment
in the field.
