The Foundation Links Program

A Unique Wrap Around Services Program

The Foundation Links Program is an initiative designed to serve the additional needs of students and their families beyond the 9:00 – 3:00 school day. The program is based on the Menninger Clinic Wrap Around Services Model, which is nationally recognized for its excellent success rate in developing a support system for students. Our program fosters pride and achievement for all participants through effective problem solving and conflict resolution. We strive to develop an "extended family" team of caring individuals for the at-risk child comprised of relatives, friends, volunteer mentors and Foundation School staff. The program defines positive steps toward stabilizing the home environment, encouraging self-esteem, and encouraging children, families and their community to become stronger together.

The Program's Goals:

  • Develop an  "extended family" team of caring individuals for the at-risk child comprised of relatives, friends, volunteer mentors and Foundation School staff.
  • Create an individually tailored program for high risk students that identifies special needs and maximizes existing support services for each student and their family outside of school
  • Take positive steps toward stabilizing home environment, encouraging self-esteem, making children, families and their community become stronger together
  • Further develop the collaborative link between school and home, empowering parents,  while enhancing the school performances of each at-risk student

Who will participate as part of the team:

  • Students  at-risk in their current placement who may otherwise require hospitalization or more intensive level of service or other institutional placement.
  • Foundation School Staff  will be trained as an integral part of the team, able to assure continuity and feedback between school and home.
  • Community Volunteers—Friends, relatives, neighbors, clergy or other  interested individuals who are prepared to make a commitment to the mentoring team
  • Community Organizations and Service Providers—Will participate as part of the community's commitment to deliver necessary services to children and families.
  • Foundation, Corporations and Helping Individuals—An opportunity for friends foundations and corporations to form a partnership with the schools, providing leadership and financial support.

How the program will be funded:

All program funding will come from private donations: foundations, corporations, local businesses, community service organizations, and friends.  It is an opportunity for the community to work together in the interest of  area children. Please click here if you would like to make a contribution.
