Behavior
Management Program
The Foundation
Schools are committed to providing a physically
and emotionally safe school environment for
all students. To this end, we have developed
a continuum of progressive discipline and
behavior management interventions.These interventions
are based on Life Space Crisis Intervention
(LSCI) and Therapeutic Aggression Control
Technique (TACT). These are nationally recognized
and highly successful methods for working
with adolescents, which emphasize helping
students learn problem-solving skills and
responsible behavior.
Our Behavior
Management System includes the following:
- Daily
Point Sheet reflects points that students
earn for positive and appropriate classroom
behavior.Points are reviewed on a weekly
basis and students earn levels and
privileges based on their points. Consequences
for negative behaviors include point
reductions, detention, level loss,
and suspension.
- Time-out
provides students with the opportunity
to reflect upon their behavior and
identify more effective ways of managing
themselves in the classroom and group.
- CIP
(Clinical Intervention Program)
provides additional therapeutic support
to students whose behaviors prevent
them from functioning in class or in
group.
- Mediation:
The purpose of mediation is to teach
students to learn to resolve conflicts
in a healthy and socially acceptable
ways. Mediations occur between students
and their peers and students and staff.
